You may have remembered a few months back me taking a trip to sunny California before heading over to New York for Fashion Week (as seen in this post here). Nathan and I flew into LA, hired a car and drove up the coast of California heading towards San Fran. Unfortunately our GPS took us the longest way possible and what should have been a 5-6 hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive through some very interesting places, so unfortunately we arrived a little later to Holman Ranch than we wanted and missed out visiting the tasting rooms and tour of the winery.
None the less, we arrived just as a family style dinner was being served, and following checking into our luxurious private cabin style room, we joined the rest of the guests for dinner and lots and lots of wine. After a 16 hour flight from Australia and a 12 hour drive up from LA, this was the perfect way for us to unwind that night, drinking amazing wine and getting to know our new friends.
As we arrived at night and although everything was beautifully lit, it wasn’t until the sun had risen in the morning that I was finally able to gauge just how incredibly beautiful this place was. I’m very lucky to live only 20 mins from what I believe is one of the best wine regions, the Yarra Valley, so I am no stranger to wineries. However Holman Ranch is a little different, and even more stunning than any winery I’ve ever been to before.
Holman Ranch is nestled in the Carmel Valley in between thousands of acres of rolling, Californian hills. With over 19 acres of vineyards, they are known for their Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, however Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir are also on their wine menu. We were lucky enough to be taken into the man-made caves where all of the wine magic happens and to taste a wide range of their wines, as well as some new ones that they are currently producing. Holman also produces their own Extra Virgin Olive Oil made from the fruits of their trees around the property.
If I could have it my way and could fly my entire family over from Australia to California, I would love to one day have a wedding at Holman Ranch. Not only are the grounds perfect for an outdoor garden wedding, but the accommodation that is available for guests is not only plentiful, but luxurious without losing that country-style feeling.

A big thank you to the amazing team at Holman Ranch for the stay, we had such as great time and cannot wait to come and visit again in the near future.
