After perusing our local Farm Fresh’s wine section for a good 20 minutes with nothing to show in our basket (we were wanting to try something new), we were recommended this Josh Cabernet Sauvignon by a nice lady after seeing the confused looks on our faces. She told us that this was one of her all time favourite wines, and being polite, we accepted her recommendation after seeing it was on roll back (always a good thing). When we got home and opened the bottle, we were extremely impressed with this North Coast Californian wine. I like all my wines smooth, which is exactly what this wine is. This wine doesn’t have any bitey tannins, with fruity flavours of spiced and smoked blackcurrant and other dark fruits.
For the price (roughly $15, although listed at Total Wine for $11.99), this wine is great value and one that will always be stocked up in our wine cabinet, although it is a challenge not to drink them all (see picture above). Dedicated to his late father “Josh”, this red is good enough to pull out for guests who you are wanting to impress. We have had both the 2010 and 2011, and both are great in review.
Favorite wine! just such good flavor and balance..
It is good quality wine, but other than that, there really isn’t much to it. Smells awful.
