Whilst in New York, Rebecca from Mode Talent and I were given the opportunity to head to the The London Hotel for drinks at the The London Bar and dinner at the Maze Restaurant by Gordon Ramsey. This definitely was a treat for us after our busy New York Fashion Week schedules and it was so lovely to sit down, unwind with a few drinks over a fabulous dinner and have a good chat about the past few hectic days.
We began our evening in The London Bar which had a great wine and cocktail selection with a lovely glass of Chardonnay and a ‘The London’ specialty cocktail. We then made our way over to our elegant table in the Maze Restaurant. Our server Mani ensured that we had a wonderful time and even took us back into the kitchen to show us how everything works at The London, as well as the table that can be booked specially in the kitchen that overlooks the chefs hard at work.
For dinner we were suggested by our server to have the Chefs Five Course Menu, which did not disappoint in the slightest. To begin we were treated to a creamy corn soup with sea urchin which was one of my favourites out of the 5 courses, with other standouts being the sea scallops (so good and cooked to absolute perfection) and the sea bass. To finish off our lovely dinner we shared the two desserts of sticky toffee pudding and dark chocolate fondant. The Gordon Ramsey name definitely did live up to our expectations with the food, the wine and the service being some of the best both of us had ever had.
A special thank you to the team at The London for the lovely night and we cannot wait to come back and visit soon. I definitely know that for the next season of NYFW I will be staying at The London just so I can eat at the Maze Restaurant every night!
