Out On the Streets

Since I first visited New York in September 2011 (I was studying at Old Dominion University in Virgina at the time where I met my boyfriend), I decided that I just had to live in this city at some stage in my life, and each time I visit this desire gets stronger and stronger. Even though I had been to New York before over the winter and knew how cold it gets there, this time the cold really got to me, especially with the rain/snow/sleet mix, the weather just wasn’t pleasant.

Knowing how cold it was outside I naturally decided to wear ankle grazing pants that left my legs freezing and no coat, thinking that I could be like these New York women I had seen walking down 5th Avenue in their Louboutin’s and skirts (it is technically Spring, after all). But after about 2 hours 5 minutes, I realised that any sane Australian girl cannot physically handle -5c temperatures in what I was wearing, so ran back to our apartment to change and put on as many clothes as possible, as well as my super trendy “puff” coat (as seen on my Instagram), which seems to be my go to coat in this cold, cold country!

Thank you! At first I wasn’t sure how it was going to look with such light colours with black accessories but I’m pretty happy with the outcome! Next time I’ll mix it up and might go with some tan coloured heels and bag x
