Surely by now you must be getting a pretty good understanding as to how big Spring Racing is in Melbourne through all of the posts I’ve been doing on my blog and Instagram, and if you follow any other Melbourne based bloggers, or any Australian bloggers, I think that it would easy to acknowledge the fact that racing season is as I’ve said before: huge.
However, if you’re like me and are running around putting the final touches on your racing outfit for the weekend, or haven’t planned an outfit at all, if I were you I’d head to Target. I was amazed at the variety and selection of dresses and fascinators/hats they had available, and yet of course me and my lovely blogger friend Kiara from Lion In The Wild chose the exact same outfit, even down to the headwear and lip colour. I guess great minds actually do think alike!
The best thing about this outfit is that 1. the dress was not only cheap originally, but was also on sale (I bought mine in store), and 2. the dress and fascinator cost less than $100. To me, that is amazing value, as I know headwear alone can cost anywhere from $80-$500. I know that I don’t want to be forking out 100’s of dollars on something that you will literally only wear once, then look at it over the next year with that feeling of ‘why did I spend so much on you, you’re so pointless’ angst. And believe me, people will actually think you went out and spent copious amounts of money on your headpiece, as Target’s are actually really, really good.
