Summer in the City

Summer in New York City is in full swing, and while temperatures are reaching the near 100’s, I’m the type of girl who wears jeans all year round regardless of weather. However, I definitely have my jeans that I wear specifically in winter, and different pairs that I wear during summer. This wasn’t really the case when I lived in Australia as the temperatures are so mild, but here in New York you really can’t get away with wearing a cropped ankle ripped knee pair of jeans when it’s snowing outside… unless you like the feeling of freezing snow on your knees and ankles!

I think the hunt for the perfect jean never ends for anyone. I’m always looking for new and exiting denim brands to incorporate into my wardrobe. However there are two things that are a must when I’m looking for a new pair of jeans which are really quite obvious: comfort and fit. My jeans HAVE to be comfortable and have some stretch in them. There’s nothing worse, especially in summer, than a pair of jeans that feels like they’re suffocating you.

Coming from Australia, I’m constantly being introduced to amazing American brands, and Silver Jeans Co. is definitely one of my new favourites. A few of my friends wear Silver Jeans Co. (see Laurie wearing them here), however I only got my hands on a pair last month but immediately loved the fit, and the fact that theses are only $99 are definitely an added bonus. This style of denim that I’m wearing in this post is ideal for summer: skinny, light wash, cropped, with slight distressing. The perfect pair of jeans a summer in New York City!

This outfit is so cute, I love your top! A couple of my favorite jean brands are J-Brand and Genetic Denim. They’re really comfortable and I’m tall so it’s hard to find jeans that fit. Express also has really nice jeans that are more reasonably priced, most of my jeans are probably Express!xoxo,justthattallgirl.com
