I think I’ve looked after my skin fairly well during my 20’s and have kept up a basic beauty routine of cleanse, tone and moisturize throughout these years. I know now as I get older that there’s a lot more I should be doing, however I’m concerned often what the ingredients in the products are that I’m slopping on my face. Apparently our skin absorbs 60% of what we put on it into our body, and the thought of my skin sucking in nasty chemicals from my face cream kind of freaks me out.
For this reason alone, I’ve started leaning towards natural based beauty products. I was recently sent a number of products from Australian beauty brand, Edible Beauty, who’s line is based on illuminating your natural beauty usingpure, wildcrafted and botanical Australian ingredients that are literally good enough to eat.
The brand really does realise that fact that we absorb so much into our bodies, so as a result their products are made with pure, wildcrafted ingredients which are ALSO edible (crazy, right!?). This means that not only are their products free of the usual nasties – sulfates, parabens, phthalates etc., they are also free of benzyl alcohol, fragrances, propylene glycol, all preservatives, colours, synthetics and any ingredient that you would not recognise or find in your food. Everyingredient in their products is pure and botanical, and good enough to eat, and therefore, good enough to put on your face.
I’ve been trialing a number of their products and have showcased my favourites in the images above. Some of these include:
- Coco Bliss Intensive Repair: This an intensive night cream that consists of shea, cocoa butter, acai and pomegranate. This thick cream is perfect for my dry skin, and amazing for use during the cold winter New York is having at the moment. It also smells soooo amazing.
- Luminous Angel Drops: This product can be used to create natural illumination and highlighting. Not only do these dewy drops work to illuminate the skin’s surface, they also nourish, hydrate and boost circulation, creating a natural glow from within. I use this sometimes mixed with my foundation for a dewy finish, or as a highlighter on my cheekbones.
- Exotic Goddess Ageless Serum: This has quickly become my favourite serum. The product combines three key actions that improve the luminous complexion of the skin. Hyalouronic Acid and Beta Glucan provide smoothing and plumping action whilst Kakadu, Davidson Plum and Edelweiss are super charged with antioxidants to enhance skin firmness.
- Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist: I love a good toner. I use this after cleansing by spraying it onto a cotton pad, or was a face spritz for whenever I feel like I need a refreshing hit! It smells like citrus heaven.
That’s just to name a few, there are heaps of other products other than these in their line. Good news for those living in the US too, as Edible Beauty has JUST started stocking at Sephora (literally today). Be sure to check out the rest of their range by clicking here!
