My Summer 2021 Capsule Wardrobe

Now that summer is finally here, I’m getting ready for a warm season ahead and wanted to put together a post on my summer capsule wardrobe for 2021. I made one earlier this spring, and you guys seemed to really like it, so I’m bringing it back with some summer staples this time around.

I love capsule wardrobes because even if you don’t strictly follow one, it gives you a great base to start with each season. Once you have your everyday staples, you can add in a few trendy pieces and have confidence that you’ll be able to style them with what you already own. My capsule wardrobe includes many simple staples like jean shorts, nude sandals, and a white midi dress, but I also added in a few prints for summer.

New York summers can get very hot, so I made sure to include a couple of flowy dresses that are easy to toss on with sandals. I also added some essentials for a trip to the beach, like these comfy wide-leg pants and this cute lemon print bikini. These are some of my favorite pieces, so you’ll be seeing me wearing them on repeat and showing you how to style them multiple different ways over the next few months.

Shoes: Because I live in NYC I rarely ware heels (I’d say honestly once a month do I pop on something with a slight heel!). My two go to pair of flat sandals this season are my Marc Fisher quilted sandals, and my Dolce Vita rattan sandals  I also live in my Golden Goose sneakers year round.

Bags: This summer my two go to bags are 1 high end bag (my new YSL!) and 1 super affordable Mango straw bag  These have already been on heavy rotation!

Denim shorts: Nothing says summer to me like a good pair of denim shorts, but finding the right pair for me has always been a challenge. I recently got these Levi’s and they’re perfect (size down, they stretch out!)

Swim: I’m absolutely loving Abercrombie swim this season. I love how affordable it is (because who wants to pay $160+ for a bikini!?). They also do the best cover ups
